A Guide to Structuring Your Novel

Moving from your core idea to writing a full novel can feel intimidating, but thinking through the structure of your novel does two important things. First, it breaks down the task of writing 300 pages into manageable pieces. Second, and more importantly, thinking about and planning your novel's structure strengthens your story in essential ways.

 

The two texts below are the two most helpful books I've found on understanding and planning structure: (1) Robert McKee, Story and (2) Jessica Brody, Save The Cat Writes a Novel.
